R/Poggioreale. Between Images and Imaginaries

Capsula Mundi at the PAN, Palazzo delle Arti in Naples, within the exhibition “R / Poggioreale. Between Images and Imaginations” curated by Angela D’Agostino and Giovangiuseppe Vannelli of the Federico II University of Naples. The cemetery system of the Poggioreale hill is exhibited together with other case studies identified in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, to highlight the inherited images and imaginaries traceable in other contexts. The exhibition – divided into the sections “Images: Naples”, “Images: World”, “Immaginaries” and “Community in comparison” – is enriched by the design proposals of the DeathLab of Columbia University in New York City.

The Capsula Mundi concept will then be illustrated by its designers, Anna Citeli and Raoul Bretzel, during the study day “Rethinking lastscapes Perspectives”, in the Aula Magna in Palazzo Gravina, at the Federico II University of Naples. Experiences of study, projects, management and experimentation on research topics will be shared with national and international guests.

Both initiatives are organized as part of the interdisciplinary research “Rethinking lastscapes Perspectives”, with the contribution of DiARC, the Department of Architecture of the Federico II University of Naples and in collaboration with the Municipality of Naples.
