And as years pass, we shall cut more trees and flatten more mountains to give space for the dead, leaving smaller and smaller space for the living, till all the forests and rice paddies have given way to cemeteries. I hope Capsula Mundi has arrived in the Philippines before I die.

The reluctance and denial of death in western cultures is causing deeply disruptive economic and environmental issues. I believe acceptance, more education, and better access to green burials can help solve this issue.

Greetings from Turkey. Our goverment even can abolish tombstones to earn money from construction of buildings but in Middle Asia it was tradition in turkish folklore that when the child was born, the family was digging a new tree for his or her celebration. But we lost this tradition. So this also supports your idea.

Your inspiration is fascinating! As dynamically creative as death is meant to be. Keep up the great work!!

All the best to you, educating through art is great.

I love this. I've always said I want to become a tree once I die. I've explained to my loved ones about my burial, decomposing and fertilising a tree which will enable me to live and breath forever. This is such a beautiful concept.

I love the idea of giving mother nature back what she has given to me. Life for a Life and the Precious Energy. I'm down for it yes! Italy doesn't know what they closed their doors too. Coffins are out of style and getting cremated is a very horrible way of letting your loved ones go. I choose to go hug a tree and knowing that I'm hugging them as a life form.

Facebook:
Man what an idea. I thought the closet thing to getting back to nature was cremation. How special would this be to know that your death brings life to the planet. I want to be buried in one of these. Bravissimo! I would be buried in another state if my home state didn't allow this type of burial.

Fabulous, fabulous idea. I find it comforting to think that my remains could have such a beautiful impact on the world. I really hope you are successful.

"Amazing wonderful and without any religious dogma. Just splendid it’s so logical I would love to become an oak tree. I really hope the laws become changed."
Lisa - Australia
From Facebook :
"This is so beautiful, and I am so happy that I have found this tonight. I don't know what tree I would like to be yet, but I definitely want to be in a Capsula Mundi! And surrounded by all my once human/now tree friends in the forest. You are changing the stigma around death. Thank you for this project, such a blessing."
Amanda

"Great idea, better for everyone and everything on the planet!"

From Facebook :
"Such a good idea! I would definitely want to be buried this way. Save a tree and make a tree, I love nature and feel very sad with how much countryside we lose."
Jody
From Facebook :
"I absolutely love this idea. Death is horrible but this...this is such a positive twist. Imagine visiting a forest and knowing life is given even in your loved ones passing. Keep it up because this is the way we need to do things in the future!"
Tom - Ireland
From Facebook :
"I think this is an amazing idea, there would have to be a law protecting the trees for so many years but imagine a forest instead of gravestones. I'd love this to be an option in Ireland my only regret is ill never get to walk through one anytime soon."
Karla - Mexico
From Facebook :
"I love it… an amazing idea, a way to return to the earth a bit of what we received. The idea to be productive after dying let me feel peaceful about the time I’ll leave this world."

"I love this idea. I think it would be amazing to sit under a tree to visit a loved one than stare at a tombstone. Definitely I want to be buried this way when I die."
Marianne - France
From Facebook :
"What a fabulous idea. I love trees and would love this possibility for an ending and being part of a beautiful sacred ground where trees instead of being taken for granted, cut and destroyed can finally represent a place of respect. Well done designers!"

From Facebook :
"What you all have created is an absolutely beautiful idea that needs to become real, and be an option for the world. This is how I want to be given to the Earth when it's my time to transition, I am very certain of that."

"This is sheer Brilliance. When I read and gone threw it, I felt energy is only transformed from one form to another. And that is what exactly nature teaches us. Also this is so great with the dead persons loved ones to hold with the memories. If kept patience and energy, this would change the whole world."
Elizabeth - USA

"I think this is a great idea!!! I always said there was a better way to bury loved ones and for a cemetery look and feel. It feels so gloomy and said but this idea would be a positive impact on the planet and a positive attitude on visual."
Laura - USA
From Facebook :
"This is such a wonderful idea. Before, I opted for cremation because I do not like the idea of being buried in a coffin to just rot. What a wonderful thought to know my body would give life one more time."
