(RE)DESIGN DEATH

We are really proud to announce that Capsula Mundi will be part of the exhibition (Re)design Death, at the Cube Design Museum in Kerkrade, Netherlands, from 11 February 2020.

The exhibition “features contemporary design around the central themes of saying farewell, dying, mourning and remembering”.

Capsula Mundi will be among 40 Dutch and international objects showing how contemporary designers deal with the needs and rituals in order to facilitate a different approach to death.

The exhibition is divided into three themes: Preparation, Saying Farewell, Mourning and Life after death.

The initiative has the aim to open debate about death and dying in order to decrease the fear of dying and to accept death as a part of life, an approach completely consistent with the idea beyond our project, for both the Capsula Mundi pod for the body and the biodegradable urn.

We believe that designers could have a role in (re)thinking way of dying and funeral, with a positive attitude and a special attention to the environment.
